New Bengali TV show ‘Ekir Mikir’ to launch today
About the show:
‘Ekir Mekir’, starring Laboni Sarkar, Somashree Bhattacharya, Saptarshi Roy and others, is set to launch today (August 16). The story is adapted from Samaresh Majumdar’s ‘Tanu Atanu Sangbad'.
Story:
- ‘Ekir Mikir’ revolves around Pratima, a bubbly, fun-loving young girl with a devil-may-care attitude. Pratima’s parents want her to get married as soon as possible.
- Pratima takes her parents for quite a
ride before getting married to a guy who is quiet and a simpleton.
Pratima’s journey, as a bahu, will take the audience for a joyous ride.
Actors Somashree and Saptarshi are essaying the lead roles.
- Somashree made her debut in Aishwarya Sen and Gourab Roy Chowdhury starrer show ‘Shubho Drishti’. She has been a part of ‘Ki Kore Bolbo Tomay’ and ‘Nojor’. The bubbly actress, who is also a good dancer, played Prasannomoyee’s character in popular period-drama ‘Rani Rashmoni’. Saptarshi has a theatre background.
- Veteran actress Laboni will be seen in a prominent role in the show.‘Ekir Mekir’ is directed by Susanto Bose.
- Besides this, ‘Meyeder Bratakotha’, a
TV series featuring devotional fasting lore predominantly found in
Bengal, will also be aired on the same channel starting from today.
Dolon Roy, Pinky Banerjee, Goutam Mukherjee, Souptik Chakraborty and Titli Aich will be seen in ‘Meyeder Bratakatha’. Each story featured in this series will be directed by different eminent directors.
