TV show ‘Mithai’ gets an Odia remake
About the show:
Bengali Serial Mithai remake in Odia is ‘Jhili’- Bengali daily soap ‘Mithai’, starring Adrit Roy and Soumitrisha Kundu,
has glued the audience to the TV screen. Village belle Mithai and her
‘Uchchebabu’ cemented their place in the hearts of telly audience. After
receiving a good response from the Bengali audience, ‘Mithai’ is set to
be remade in Odia.
- The show, which has been dominating the TRP charts for the past few months, will now entertain Odia audience as ‘Jhili’.
- Just like ‘Mithai’, the Odia show will
narrate the story of village belle Jhili, who prepares mouth-watering
sweets. She goes to the city to sell sweets where she meets the hero.
- Other than a few minor changes in the storyline keeping the Odia culture
in mind, ‘Jhili’ will have a similar track like ‘Mithai’.
- The Odia
audience can expect some ‘Khatti Meethi’ nokjhok between lead characters just like Mithai and Siddhartha.
- Interestingly, the show has already been remade in Tamil as ‘Ninaithale Inikkum’ starring popular actors Swathi Sharma and Anand Selvan in the lead roles. The Tamil show was launched last month.
- A simple story with a tinge of humour and some intense drama, helped the
Bengali show become popular soon after its launch. ‘Mithai’, which was
launched in January, 2021, has an ensemble cast. It features some of the
most popular faces in the show. Biswajit Chakraborty, Swagata Basu,
Kaushik Chakraborty, Lopamudra Sinha, Kaushambi Chakraborty, Diya Mukherjee, Dhrubajyoti Sarkar, Oindrila Saha, Uday Pratap Singh and others are playing prominent roles in the show.
