Sadhika Venugopal to play a doctor in 'Amma Makal'; says, "Now I have all the more respect for the professionals"

- Sadhika Venugopal, who is much loved for her anchoring stint in TV lately, is back with a prominent character in a serial. The actress will be playing an extended cameo in the popular show 'Amma Makal'. Sadhika can be seen portraying the character of Dr. Hemalatha, who will be treating both the lead characters Anu and Sangeetha. Sharing her excitement about making a comeback with an AM Naseer show, Sadhika said, "I feel privileged to be back to Naseer sir's set. He is the one who introduced me to the Malayalam telly audience with Pattusari. Now, after years, it is exciting that he offered me such an important character, that too at one of the biggest junctures of the story," she said.
- Talking about playing a doctor for the first time, the actress spoke about her respect for the professionals.
"It is true that when we act as a particular professional we will have
more respect for them. Here I am playing a doctor and we are shooting in
a hospital. Be it working in the operation theatre or monitoring the
patience, at times the days go tiring. Now, I think of the efforts of a
real doctor who is doing it every single day. Can't imagine the stress
they would have had during the pandemic. Now I have all the more respect
for the profession, hats off," she added. When
asked about playing a lead role in a TV serial, the actress said, " I
would like to be free. Want to do modeling, anchoring, movies and more.
So, more than being confined to one lead character I would like to do
some interesting and challenging characters like this."
