Amitabh Bachchan drops the first click as he begins shooting for Kaun Banega Crorepati 16; Netizens write 'Aarambh kiya jaaye' in Big B's style
Amitabh Bachchan has officially begun filming for the forthcoming season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. On Thursday evening, the Bollywood superstar took to his X (previously known as Twitter) account to release the first shot from the quiz show's sets. Big B was seen spreading his arms in the black and white photo, as if to welcome the viewers to the new season of his show.
The photo comes a day after it was revealed that Amitabh Bachchan has begun shooting for KBC 16. "The team had a great mock shoot and is excited to start the season with new enthusiasm. The team has kept the original format and made no significant adjustments overall. "Bachchan sir, of course, is as excited as ever to return to the KBC set," was reported by Indian Today.

2024 Season 16:

Sony Entertainment Television announced the 16th season of KBC on 16 April 2024. The promo for registration was also released on the same day. The Registration started from 26 April 2024 at 9.00 PM IST. The show will be premiered at 12 August 2024

Host:

Amitabh Bachchan has hosted KBC since its beginning in 2000, with the exception of the third season, which was hosted by superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
During the last episode of the season 15 of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh Bachchan was extremely emotional as he mentioned in his speech, “Devi aur Sajjano, ab hum jaa rahe aur kal se yeh manch ab nahi sajega. Apno se yeh keh pana ki kal se hum yahan nahi aa payenge, na kehne ki himmat hoti aur na kehne ka mann hota hai. Main Amitabh Bachchan iss daur ke liye, iss manch se akhri baar kehne jaa raha hu, Shubraatri.”
KBC 16 was announced in April this year when the show’s makers unveiled a promo and announced that the registrations were open. However, the official premiere date of KBC 16 is not known as of now.

About the Show:

Kaun Banega Crorepati (simply KBC; English: Who Will Become a Crorepati) is an Indian Hindi-language television game show.
It is the official Hindi adaptation of the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? franchise.
It began with actor Amitabh Bachchan as presenter. The actor Shah Rukh Khan replaced Bachchan for the third season, after which Bachchan returned as the presenter.
The programme aired on Star Plus for its first three seasons from 2000 to 2007, and was commissioned by the programming team of Sameer Nair.
In 2010, it started airing on Sony Entertainment Television and was produced by BIG Synergy (under various names over periods of time) from season 1 till season 10. Afterwards, the credited production companies co-producing are Studio NEXT since season 10 and Tree of Knowledge (Digi TOK) since season 11 respectively.

Format:

The format is similar to other shows in the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? franchise: contestants are asked multiple choice questions and must select the correct answer from four possible choices, and are provided with lifelines that may be used if they are uncertain.
Starting in season 7 in 2013, the top prize was ₹7 crore and was increased to ₹7.5 crore in Season 14 in 2022 to celebrate 75 years of India's Independence.

Last Season 15: 2023

Sony Entertainment Television announced the 15th season of KBC on 18 April 2023. The Registration started from 29 April 2023 at 9.00 PM IST.
The first episode premiered on 14 August 2023. A new part is introduced where when the player crosses the first threshold, a question will be asked from a person from anywhere in India and the audience have to answer it using the voting meters.
The one among the audience who answers correctly at the least time is given a prize. Another new part called 'Super Sandook' (transl. Super Chest) is also introduced where players, after crossing the second threshold, attempt a rapid fire question round. Contestants have to answer 10 questions in 90 seconds, each correct answer giving them ₹10,000. After winning ₹50,000 or more, the contestants can either save the amount in their bank account, or revive a lifeline used earlier. The 50:50 lifeline is replaced with the 'Double Dip'. The "Triple Test" was replaced back with "Fastest Finger First". The Double Dip and Video Call a Friend lifelines were replaced by "Flip the Question" and "Ask the Expert" during Kids Week Specials.
Retired Squadron Leader Sushmita Sahay became the first contestant of the 15th season of KBC.
Jaskaran Singh, a man aiming for Indian Administrative Service, becomes the first Rs. 1 Crore winner of Season 15 on 5 September. Jasnil Kumar became the second Rs. 1 Crore winner on 21 September. The final episode aired on 29 December 2023.
