Due to prior cinematic commitments, I'm unable to host the upcoming season of Bigg Boss Tamil. I have been privileged to reach you in your homes. You have showered me with your love and affection, for which you have my everlasting gratitude. Your spirited and passionate support of the contestants is at the core of what makes Bigg Boss Tamil one of the best television reality shows in India. Personally, being your host has been an enriching association, where I have honestly shared my learnings. I will always be grateful for this learning experience. I sincerely thank each one of you and the contestants in the show for our time together. Lastly, I would like to thank the wonderful team at Channel, as well as every crew member who has been involved in making this enterprise a grand success. I am sure this season will be yet another success.”

- Bigg Boss Tamil Season 1, was the first season of the Tamil-language reality TV show Bigg Boss Tamil which is the Tamil version of the Big Brother. The first season aired on Star Vijay from June 25, 2017 to September 30, 2017. The season's presenter was Kamal Haasan and a lavish house set was constructed at EVP theme park, Chennai. This season is the shortest season in the Bigg Boss Tamil series excluding the Ultimate series. The winner of the season was model/actor Arav Nafeez who received a cash prize of ₹50 lakh. Lyricist Snehan Sivaselvam was the runner-up. Snehan, Suja Varunee and Maria Juliana returned as contestants in Bigg Boss Ultimate (season 1). While Bindu Madhavi returned as a contestant in Bigg Boss Non-Stop (season 1) and eventually she won it.
- Bigg Boss Tamil Season 2, The season had 17 housemates and was filmed with 60 cameras. It ran for 15 weeks (from 17 June to 30 September 2018)] and aired on Star Vijay. Hotstar provided content not aired on television and provided Fun Unlimited, a parallel weekly programme. Hosted by Rio Raj, it humorously described events in the house. The first season's lavish house set, on the outskirts of Chennai at EVP Film City in Chembarambakkam, was renovated just before the start of this season. The renovated house included a "jail room" to increase the severity of punishment for contestant mistakes. The winner of Bigg Boss Tamil 2 was Riythvika, who won a trophy and a cash prize of ₹50 lakhs (₹5 million). Aishwarya Dutta was the runner-up, and the other finalists were Vijayalakshmi Agathiyan and Janani Iyer. This is the first season to have a female winner in the Bigg Boss Tamil franchise. Thaadi Balaji and Shariq Hassan returned as contestants in Bigg Boss Ultimate (season 1).
- Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3 on Star Vijay on 23 June 2019 - 6 October 2019, was completely renovated with a Chettinad-based theme for this season. It is the only season in Bigg Boss history where an international contestant has won the show, Mugen Rao, a musical artist from Malaysia won the title and Sandy emerged as the first runner-up. Abhirami Venkatachalam and Vanitha Vijayakumar returned as contestants in Bigg Boss Ultimate (season 1).
- Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4, The show was launched on 4 October 2020, The season's finale took place on 17 January 2021 with Aari Arujunan winning the Bigg Boss title with the highest number of voting percentage in the history of Bigg Boss Tamil franchise, whereas Balaji Murugadoss emerged as the first runner-up. Dabur Herbal Clove Toothpaste was the main sponsor for the fourth season. Anitha Sampath, Balaji Murugadoss, Ramya Pandian and Suresh Chakravarthi returned as contestants in Bigg Boss Ultimate (season 1)
- Bigg Boss Tamil Season 5. The show premiered on 3 October 2021, Ramya Krishnan as appeared as a guest host for a week. The grand finale took place on 16 January 2022. Raju Jeyamohan emerged as the winner, while Priyanka Deshpande emerged as the runner up of the season. Niroop Nandakumar, Thamarai Selvi, Abhinay Vaddi and Suruthi Periyasamy returned as contestants in Bigg Boss Ultimate (season 1).
- Bigg Boss Tamil Season 6, The show launched on 9 October 2022 on Star Vijay along with a 24/7 Live stream on Disney+ Hotstar. Kamal Haasan has officially once again been appointed as the host for the sixth time. The season's grand finale took place on 22 January 2023 and Mohammed Azeem was announced as the winner whereas Vikraman Radhakrishnan became the runner up.Shivin Ganesan made history in the Bigg Boss franchise by emerging as the first transgender contestant to reach the finale.
- Bigg Boss Tamil Season 7, from 1 October 2023, The house was once again located in EVP Film City, Chennai. The Grand Finale of the show took place on 14 January 2024, Archana Ravichandran made history by becoming the first ever wild card entrant to emerge as winner with the most votes in the mainstream TV franchise of Bigg Boss (excluding the digital spin-off known as Bigg Boss OTT 2), Manichandra was the runner-up.
