- Well-known actor-director Tathagata Mukherjee is returning to the small screen as a protagonist.
- The actor-director, who has recently been seen in the Sean Banerjee and Anushka Goswami starrer ‘Roshnai’, is set to kickstart a new journey with his new serial ‘Kon Shey Aalor Shwopno Niye’. Tathagata is slated to share the screen with actress Payel Dey. Tathagata and Payel have previously been seen together in ‘Desher Mati’.
- The new Bengali serial ‘Kon Shey Aalor Shwopno Niye’ is set to narrate the story of an ordinary girl striving to make her own mark.
- As per the storyline of the show, Alolika Singha Roy aka Alo is the daughter-in-law of the Singha Roy family that owns the popular newspaper 'Suryadoy Patrika'.
- Alo is the daughter-in-law of Udayan Singha Roy, the owner of the newspaper, and the wife of Rudra Singh Roy, the chief officer of a well-established bank.
- Alo takes care of everyone in the family, tends to their needs and wants. However, nobody ever seems to care for her. Despite being one of the integral parts of the Singha Roy family for 15 years, Alo has not yet received the dignity she deserves.
- However, Alo realises that the time has arrived when she needs to go out, chart her own course and earn her own identity away from the shadow of the Singha Roy family.
- Will she succeed at that pursuit? ‘Kon Shey Aalor Shwopno Niye’ aims to essay that story.
- Payel will be seen essaying the role of Alo, while Tathagata has been cast as Rudra Singha Roy.
- Rudra does not subscribe to the family business and has his job at a reputed bank. He does not nurture a healthy relationship with his parents after he decides to exit the family business.
- On the other hand, Rudra is not attached to Alo as well, as the marriage was rather imposed. Hence, the relationship between Alo and Rudra is strained as well.
- Tathagata has worked with Payel in ‘Desher Mati’ earlier. Tathagata says, “Payel and I have a good understanding between us after we worked in Desher Mati. I’m glad to be back as a pair with her as we share a good friendship off the screen as well.”
